We’re happy to announce we’ll be partnering with Active Space to help East End United!!

Activate Space (https://www.activatespace.ca) work with individuals, developers, and the public sector to reimagine urban property and maximize shared value in processes of city building. They are an excellent urban-planning initiative led by Jordana Wright. Check out #WelcomeProject!

Together, we’ll be helping East End United Ministry (https://eastendunited.ca/) figure out how to transform the Eastminister Campus space to better serve their community–it’s gonna be a great project to benefit Toronto.

You will need this Eventbrite ticket to attend our event:

On July 27th, we will be joining Activate Space to figure out how to transform the Eastminister Campus to meet a local community need. Should it be a co-working space? Offer food service? Support youth programming? We’ll help them build an evidence-based strategic approach to make a decision with the community!

Volunteers will have the full Saturday to group up with other data analysts to munge through the data, uncover insights, and present their findings to East End United. We’ll look around Neighbourhood 67: Danforth and census data of nearby postal codes to uncover what the community may be lacking compared to those nearby. All data analysts are welcome!

A majority of our volunteers use Python and R, but any tool that can prepare spreadsheets should have no issue contributing. Just please be sure you can commit for the full 9AM-9PM period.

This is an excellent way to contribute your data science skills to empower your community.
